Hi, I am new to this system and I am hoping someone can give me a bit help.

I've installed the 1.26.5 on ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Configured the nullmailer and tested it for sending emails successfully. I enabled email alert in the options, however I do not receive any email. checked the mail.log and did not see any trail of zm sending emails.

Did I miss anything here?

1.26.5 on 14.04 will probably have multiple issues, try 12.04, or if you must have 14.04 get on dev builds from github. There is a PPA for the master branch.
