4 Chip 878a card used to work before... P878H-16 AOP-401?

Post by windswept321 »

Hi,
I have two P878h-16 pci capture cards with 878a chips that used to work a few years ago in a zoneminder system I had then.
The same settings no longer work - they give a very broken, flickering image made up of about 3 images I think.
I am trying it with only one card and have tried swapping cards.
I've tried changing resolution, colour/grey etc but the problem remains.
The card looks like this:

http://www.powerview.nl/product/spec/P878H-IO.pdf

I have old notes that I don't remember writing about this card. I followed them and changed the bttv settings etc. They are:

"AOP-416
IMPORTANT! ONLY USE ONE CARD AT A TIME, AS A 4 CHANNEL CCTV CARD (Nothing but problems with flickering otherwise)

Zoneminder is installed but the AOP-416 card now needs configured.

cd /etc/modprobe.d/

Create a new file (name doesn't matter) - sudo nano bttv

Put the following into the file:

options bttv card=77,77,77,77 pll=1,1,1,1 tuner=4,4,4,4 gbuffers=16 latency=64 Removing latency=64 appears to fix flicker mentioned below *gbuffers=32 seems to be ok, means 32 frames are buffered in memory rather than 16 so preferable (I guess!).*

ctrl-x and y to save.

sudo shutdown -r now

Zoneminder should now be ready for configuration of cameras, zones, alarms etc. Access at “system's-ip-address/zm” "
