zoneminder record mode problems

Hello !

I have some problems on my zoneminder configuration and I think experts on this forum could help me easily (I hope ^^).

I will start with my zoneminder server properties :
- installed on UBUNTU 14.04 server x64 version (virtual machine)
- zoneminder version : v1.26.5
- available disk space : 208 Go
- 8 Go RAM

I have found on this forum a tutorial for this configuration (ubuntu 14.04 + zm v1.26.5) and everything seems working fine.
I have only some problems with recording for my IP cameras.
I don't need any function about Modetect because I only need records.

For the moment, no problem to associate IP cameras and to monitor/record with them and no problem with CPU.

About the recording process, I think records are stored on /usr/share/zoneminder/ but currently my problems are the following :
- I have started recording on 1 of my 8 cameras (I think 4 will need to record on the server at the end of my configuration). After 6 hours I have checked disk space on my server and noticed 45 Go have been used by the recording process. That's huge...

How can I reduce this in keeping a correct quality when I will need to replay recordings ?

- A second problem : I need also to record only for 24 hours but on 7/7 days so I would like to keep only historic (and recording files) for 24 hours. How can I settle this ?

I haven't found where I can configure parameters for recordings.

Thanks a lot for your help and your answer.

If you need more information, it's not a problem

You may not find a way to fix it while maintaining quality. Try adjusting the Frame rate out of the IP camera first see if that helps, then you will need to start reducing the resolution. Others may have some suggestions.

ok, thanks a lot !
And what about recording parameters to record only for 24 hours (and to keep data only for the last 24 hours) ?
