jabber / xmpp instant messages on motion detection

Hi,

I have prepared a simple Perl script for receiving alerts on my smartphone when motion is detected on a zm monitor. See attached file.

I hate Perl and I have no skills in it, so I'm sure someone can do something better. I wish ZM will integrate xmpp support in a future release, as a additional option to emails for warning users.

If someone knows how to customize messages with monitor name that triggered the event, I'll appreciate.

Waiting for any comments.

Cheers!

Gianni

I tried to upload the file three times: the system answered that upload was successful, but I can't see the file neither.

So I tried to paste it in a reply, but the system answered:
"Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs".

Even removing the unique url, I get the same result.

I'm clueless.

I finally got the script uploaded on the wiki.
click Wiki -> contents -> discussion
and search jabber in the page.

It's very hard to upload a file on this site! :-/
