Canned my working Centos/1.25 installation to try 1.27 with Debian Wheezy 7

I followed the README.md for Debian, but it reports an error building package:
root@didi:~/zoneminder# dpkg-checkbuilddeps
root@didi:~/zoneminder# dpkg-buildpackage
dpkg-buildpackage: source package zoneminder
dpkg-buildpackage: source version 1.27.99+1-trusty-SNAPSHOT2014072901
dpkg-buildpackage: source changed by Isaac Connor <iconnor@connortechno
dpkg-buildpackage: host architecture amd64
dpkg-source --before-build zoneminder
debian/rules clean
dh clean --with autoreconf
debian/rules override_dh_clean
make[1]: Entering directory `/root/zoneminder'
# check to make sure that postinst contains the correct upstream versio
[ 1.27.99+1 = ]
/bin/sh: 1: [: =: argument expected
make[1]: *** [override_dh_clean] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/zoneminder'
make: *** [clean] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules clean gave error exit status 2
Is there a source package 1.27.99.....to download into my cloned git directory?

postinst for debian distro directory in cloned git hub doesn't reference any 1.27.99 zoneminder package...

Stuck....can anyone help. Again, using Debian Wheezy 7.
