still no update to 1.27

hello over there,
i tried to update from 1.25 to 1.27 and followed the steps provided in several forums. nothing happened i'm still on 1.25.
I'm not a pro at linux and i would like to know if i can use the ubuntu update procedure for debian or it is another one?
