Debian 8 vs 7

I was having a heck of a time getting ZM to work on Debian 8. Actually, it was working, but the web monitor display was not.
I followed a couple of different how-to's and neither solved the issue.
To explain the issue a little better...
ZM (using debian install) would install, the configuration pages in the web interface worked fine, but clicking "Montage" or "Cycle" gave me blanks where the video should show.
ZM would record and the pictures/videos would look fine when view directly from the directories.
Frustrated with trying to resolve the issue, I decided to test ZM on debian 7.x. I had a 2nd hard drive, so I installed debian 7 with apache2 and then installed ZM and it works perfectly. I've not gone back to the debian 8 install to see if I can resolve it, so for now it is Deb7.
