USB DVR for wired cameras compatible with zoneminder?

Hi.
Can't find any USB device in http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... bility_Lis
Can't find any success story with zoneminder and USB
Want to convert an old laptop into a recorder.
* order some $8 cameras (wired, analogue)
* order an $10 four channel USB DVR (found one, drivers only for Windows XP)
* get cables and power supply at local store
* install ubuntu and zoneminder
* upload files to dropbox or something
What model to buy?
alternatives:
* DVR with SD-card and FTP server
* even more advanced device with a built-in cloud client
