[1.28.1]+[Miniserver-Ubuntu14.04]+[video.mjpg] = unwatchable

The Roline LAN only IP-Camera's Videostream admin:password@192.168.2.201:80/mjpg/video.mjpg works fine in every browser.

The Camera allows to send the MJPG-stream compressed as MPEG-4 or MJPEG Data, i tried both @ 640x480.

ZoneMinder-Settings of the corresponding Monitor:
  • SourceType: Remote
  • Remote Protocol: HTTP (Simple)
  • Hostname: admin:password@192.168.2.201
  • Port: 80
  • Path: /mjpg/video.mjpg
  • WxH: 640x480
...and left everything else as set by default.

Without "admin:password@Hostname" i get tons of log-entries "Failed authentication: unable to get response".
Having the correct username and password in the Hostname generates the following Log (Loglevel:info@all)

The only picture i get from that monitor is a "broken picture" symbol, while the two other cams that stream via "videostream.cgi" work fine are showing up perfectly.

Have i missed to install some decoding-library in the system?
Spent the half day trying around, but actually i have no more idea and i thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Hey, I want to hang your post up on a plaque and announce to everyone that this is how you create a troubleshooting thread.
You've posted the important information including your camera config and provided log entries of your output.

You'd be surprised how many people just post "it doesn't work" and then expect us to magically know what is going wrong. And getting the user to produce the right information feels like pulling teeth sometimes.

In any case....

I've noticed this happening more frequently. Yes it should go on the long list of things to look into, but it might mean a timing problem that will correct itself in a few seconds, rather than a clue for the problem you are experiencing.

So do the following:
1) start zoneminder (or just save the monitor config w/o chaning anything)
2) do NOT try to open a live view
3) watch the log for a good 30 seconds

Look for any events that say "Capturing at x.xx fps".

This is going to tell us whether or not your backend is working, which will tell us what to troubleshoot.

It sounds like you have three or so cameras added to ZM, and two of them work fine (you can view them live, edit zones, etc)?

Did you enable CGI in Apache?

Can you provide more info on your camera? Make and Model?
