Hy, i'm reading zoneminder docs but i don't be able to avoid events when my camera switch to infrared night mode and vice versa. In that moment image become black and white and ZM record an event. Since i've wrote a script which send me a Telegram msg with recorded video in attachment, I want avoid useless advise.
Anyone can help me?

Use maximum settings in zone to control no event when entire image changes, or a zone to exclude alarms if part of the picture should never change due to motion.

Thank's for you reply. I had tried reducing maximum Alarmed Area (with setting blobs as Alarm Check Method) but without result.

Did you get this working, I have events trigger twice a day due to the day/night transition.

Using the default zone settings (percent):

MIN/MAX ALARMED AREA 3/75
MIN/MAX FILTERED AREA 3/75

I've analized allarm frames that ZM have generated. I've redesigned my all Active Zones increasing MIN Area since i've observed that red allarm zones are within my active zone. However i'm not be able to prevent all allarm frames. Maybe i'm using a wrong way?

Today i've tried to increase Reference Image Blend %ge and AlmRefImageBlendPct values at 25%. It seem worked better: no events saved when switched on night mode. I don't have found any explication for AlmRefImageBlendPct details in ZM docs. Where can i find it? I would like understand how it work.

I'd do as Steve suggested - add a small 'preclusive' zone in an area that should never change in any circumstances other than a wholesale event that affects the whole image (e.g. IR transition, other lights turning on/off, etc).

I would imagine that tackling this any other way could compromise the sensitivity/accuracy of detection of other ('real') motion.
