Hello,
The setup is
rpm -qi zoneminder
Name : zoneminder
Version : 1.29.0
Release : 3.fc23
Architecture: x86_64
Install Date: Wed 10 Feb 2016 12:16:57 AM CST
Group : System Environment/Daemons
Size : 21676151
License : GPLv2+ and LGPLv2+ and MIT
Signature : RSA/SHA256, Thu 04 Feb 2016 05:03:16 PM CST, Key ID d07cb45027297b34
Source RPM : zoneminder-1.29.0-3.fc23.src.rpm
Build Date : Thu 04 Feb 2016 05:00:50 PM CST
Build Host : localhost.localdomain
Relocations : (not relocatable)
URL : http://www.zoneminder.com/
Summary : A camera monitoring and analysis tool
Linux localhost.localdomain 4.4.6-300.fc23.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Mar 16 22:10:37 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
After 3 days of uninterrupted performance all 4 cameras stopped transmitting (or at least the data does not get through to zoneminder)
The cameras are wireless and they transmit to a wireless interface which right now shows zero bytes receiving. The result being that neither the https, or api viewing of cameras is not available. I am 99% sure that if i reboot the system everything will go back to normal. But before I do that I would like to know why it happened.
Can you please help me get the necessatry bits of information in diagnosing the problem?
What I checked so far?
nload -m
shows no incoming packets on the "wlan0" (wlp0s26f7u1) interface. journalctl -u zoneminder -r shows:
the cameras get their ip addresses via hostapd.service and dnsmasq who learn their respective MACs:
But pinging of those cameras is a no go at this moment:
and there is also a hostapd.service that does not seem to exibit any errors after 3 days of running:
So the question arises: why those cameras stopped working?
Like I have said before, I would like to learn the reason for them being in a stopped state before i reboot the system and everything will go back to normal. All lights on cameras are on.
thanks for any hints
