ZoneMinder and Key Frames

Post by lselinger »

Is there anyway to have ZM not decode/evaluate Key Frames? I have a camera that I had set the Key Frames to 50 (has to be a value from 2-150). When set to 50, every 50th frame ZM sent an error:
zm_err_decoding_frame.png
zm_err_decoding_frame.png (98.27 KiB) Viewed 2532 times
To test I've set this from 2 to 150 as well and that is the frame I get an error on. IE if I set it to 2, every second frame ZM will return a Error while decoding frame 2,4,6,etc. If I set it to 150, ZM will return a Error while decoding frame 0, 150, 300, etc.

I have to have this setting on the camera so there's no option to disable there. I was wondering if there's a way to at the very least, stop the ERRs from hitting the log file or if there's a way to tell ZM to ignore certain errors. :?:

What source type are you using in the monitor setup?

I'm using remote. Trying to change to anything else just gave me a blue screen. I did read to try Ffmpeg but that just showed 100+fps of blue.

Try ffmpeg again as I feel it works better with h.264 cameras. The trick is to get the video resolution spot on or you will get that familiar blue screen. There is a fair chance that someone has successfully used the same camera on ZM so let Google be your friend and search with zoneminder and your camera model #. Or you can try 720x360 or multiples thereof. You can use one of several ONVIF tools to query the camera for supported resolutions.

I have a couple other threads on this camera and will be doing the wiki doc on how to set it up because until now, no one had a config lol... I did use a probe tool to get the reported config, I might have to play around a bit.

Just as an FYI here's the other main thread I started:

Wanscam HW0045

at the bottom are the details I got from the probes.
