When i ssh into zoneminder 1.29.1 ( to do security updates and such ) using Ubuntu 15.10 (GNU/Linux 4.2.0-35-generic i686) I get notified of the new distro update/install
New release '16.04 LTS' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it
Is it safe to do a 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it or will there be further steps i need to do to make it workable? Should I ignore the distro update until I can do a fresh install and start from scratch?

Re: New release '16.04 LTS' available
So far I have not been able to successfully upgrade Ubuntu to 16.04 with Zoneminder. I was able to upgrade when it was in Final Beta before they included MySQL 5.7. So do a release upgrade at your own risk and be prepared for Zoneminder to not work.
Something you could do is take a dump of the ZM database and import it into MySQL 5.7 or Mariadb 10 after you upgrade your system.
If Zoneminder is important to you I recommend a fresh install, not upgrade, of Ubuntu 16.04 then install Zoneminder. Yes, you can import your existing ZM database into the new setup if you keep a backup copy.
