Separate forum for opt_email setup?

I've run zoneminder without e-mail setup for about 4 months. Tried to enrich the experience with email setup but to no avail.
Should not we have a seperate forum for just that? Searching for topics shows that a lot of people have no clue (like myself) how to set up email sending.
or perhaps a feature request ....
Could zoneminder reuse the code from suitecrm (opensource gpl) to have a "test email" button and all the config info in one place?

After one day of struggling I managed to set up ssmtp and now I go forward exploring the filters options.
seems to work.
