ZoneMinder UPS Options

Hello all,

I currently have ZoneMinder 1.29 running under CentOS 7 on a Xeon E3-1220 v2 based server. Supermicro SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O currently tending to 8 Foscam cameras. Server itself is doing its job although I have a lot of tweaking (and learning) left to do.

We had a power outage that stopped the server and I didn't have it set to boot on power so it was down for a couple days before I realized. Changed it to boot on power but it made me realize that I still really need a UPS and I would like to get everything setup for graceful shutdown (including a readyNAS on the same network).

I was looking at a rack mount CyberPower OR700LCDRM1U that is a pretty good deal at $165 but an SNMP add-on almost doubles the price. Along with SNMP the ReadyNAS can also connect to a Network UPS Tools (NUT) server (in turn connected to the UPS via USB), where setup appears to be a bit more complex than I could figure out in a weekend. I assume it wouldn't have an issue running alongside ZM.

Only reason I am hesitant to get a dedicated UPS for the ReadyNAS is because it is located in a safe and I would prefer to keep the UPS out of the safe for space and heat reasons. In which case UPS wired via USB would require drilling another, or a larger, hole in the safe for a USB cable. But if there is an easy setup for just zoneminder I'll drill a bigger hole in a heartbeat if it saves me frustration.

Is there a simple solution I am neglecting? What is suggested?
Thanks,
-Nick
