Hi All,

I use Zoneminder and iam very happy with the application, but i got a Question setting up zones .
I have a Foscam pan tilt camera, and in the software of the camera i have "preset to boot" so if i have a powerlost of if i turn the camera.
The camera wil turn to the default setting so that the zones are in the righ place.

i have made 6 zones, but Now comes the strange thing when i turn the camera and later i say oke go to default setting then my zones are (still) off ?
and i know the camera is absolutely in the default "setup"/place, can anyone tel me what is do wrong ?.

Default Foscam with Zones Turn the Foscam and then set it to default place again, but the zones are off ?? i hope you guy's can help me with this issue

This is a camera problem. It is not a ZoneMinder problem.

The problem you have described is why one cannot reliably use finely tuned motion detection zones with many PTZ cameras. Some PTZ cameras are better than others in maintaining the exact preset position you set in the camera. In particular the cheap PTZ cameras, such as Foscam cameras, do not always go to the exact same position when you call up a preset. They are close but are not accurate enough to do what you are trying to do.

Pro tip: Mount your camera such that potential light sources such as windows, doors, and lights, are out of the view of the camera. You will get much better results. In your case, you will get a better view if you mount your camera above the window looking the other way.

Tnx for your answer, i thinking to replace the camera for a static camera on this position.
then this problem is solved .
