I'm using an Android smartphone as an IP Camera with the
IP Webcam app . (If you know of a better app, do let me know.)
I'm using this as a guide:

But I'm getting many error messages:

What's wrong

Someone told me the following:
well, you source config is wrong
whatever you have configured as a source returns a html page, not a video stream
second source config returns 404, meaning an invalid path
So how do I fix this?
How do I find the valid path?

But liderbug doesn't say whether he's doing that *with your phone app*.
That phone app might not actually provide a video link, or -- as with many commercial IP cams -- it might be hard to figure out what that link is.
I recommend looking at the web page the camera app provides with a browser, then opening up View Source and looking for a link with a suggestive file extension.

Monitor Type: remote
Remote Protocol: HTTP
Remote Method: simple
Remote Host Port: 8080
Remote Host Path: /video
It is important to get the video size settings right, and these depend on your camera.

Hi,
I have two camera that are hooked up on old android phone. They work fine for me with the app IP Webcam. Just make sure the resolution is the same on both, you can modify the resolution with IP Webcam, I suggest you put something simple there like 640 x 480, that's what I did, and it works great.
I hope this helps.
