Hi,

Is there a way to export just a part of an event (Recording done with 600 section lenght) ?
And is there a big difference in using shorter section lenght or bigger once in point of view database or performance ?

Regards,
Henri

You didn't tell us the recording mode you've set your monitors to nor what kinds of events you find interesting. This info is needed in order to respond accurately.

From the context it would appear you've got them set to record, which by design will do nothing but record blocks of events over a set period. So the general answer to your question is to use a different mode, such as mocord. See the documentation to learn about the different recording modes and what they do.

A longer section length will create fewer event records in the database, and of course fewer records will put less load on the db. But really the difference won't be noticeable. Currently there is no nice gui way of grabbing a section of an event. However, the event is just a huge list of jpgs.. so you can manually just take the ones you want from the filesystem.

Thank you for your answer, i will lower now the section lenght to 5 minutes (300).
