Hello,
As I am new to the topic, I am currently gaining experience and learning a lot. Feel free to point me to any literature I missed on my journey Here, I've collected a couple questions regarding Zoneminder configuration.
A couple days ago, I bought a Foscam FI9900P on sale. As I heard of Zoneminder before, I installed version 1.29.0 on a virtual machine (Debian).
With help of an other topic here (viewtopic.php?t=23686) I got both things connected. I used FFMPEG, source rtsp://user:pw@IP:88/videoMain and resolution of 1280x640. But I don't quite get where that resolution is comming from? I am using a 1080p camera, therefore I would assume to be using 1920x1080. Is there any way to improve the resolution?
I am also able to view the live picture of the cam on /cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD] but I am not able to use that as a source. What settings would I need to use? Also the pictures resolution is only 1280x720. Is there a Foscam setting I didn't see to up this?
Is it possible to send me an email if a camera isn't connected anymore? Like if it is unplugged?
I am going to get a couple more cameras. Therefore I would like to ask which one would you recommend? I don't need the wireless function, but IR-LEDs are necessary. So far I am a little disappointed of Foscam. The UI is quite bad and I really hate installing the plugin on every machine.
Is there a Zoneminder page like the montage view without the drop-downs and stuff on top?
Lastly, I am wondering if I understood the Mocord function right. It recordes 24/7 but highlites all movements in the active zones?
Thanks a lot
Tobi
Foscam FI9900P configuration issues
Re: Foscam FI9900P configuration issues
You must set the resolution to be whatever your camera is sending. I cannot comment further on foscam's.
At the moment there is no support for sending an email when the camera isn't connected. I suggest using a log monitoring solution like logcheck to email you errors from zm.
Re montage: not at this time. We do accept patches though.
Your understanding of mocord is correct.
