I'm using Bodhi 4.0.0
zoneminder 1.29.0

I followed the Easy wayubuntu 14 setup
at the end of the setup
http://127.0.0.1/zm/api/host/getVersion.json - gives me a page not found error

The console comes up and I login as admin it comes up ok, I changed the default security
"ZoneMinder Console - Stopped - default v1.29.0"
I trie running the comand in terminal
& get the following error
"root@camserv:/home/james# service zoneminder start
Job for zoneminder.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status zoneminder.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details"

Not sure where to find ystemctl status zoneminder.service" and "journalctl -xe"

Check the install instructions to see if you missed something.

You may want to get rid of your desktop system as it will use up resources. Use a plain Ubuntu system...

I'll try what java engine I have & then do a format & re install
