Hikvision v Vivotek

Looking for another camera,
I have
1 vivotek bullet outdoor camera
1 HoSafe bullet outdoor camera --> Bought based on price, wouldn't recommend
1 Foscam MJPEG indoor (actually 3, but 1 that is still in use)
1 Foscam Outdoor
I currently have an Amcrest Indoor PTZ, but it's going back. It has network port issues (port flapping) and I had to disable Spanning-Tree on my enterprise grade network switch to get connectivity to it.
Eventually I would like to off-load motion detection to the cameras for the cameras that support it. So any experience getting remote alarm trigger from the camera to zm would be useful. Ideally if the camera supported a trigger url when motion was detected and an exit trigger url x frames or x seconds after last motion ... would be ideal. I could probably eventually get middle ware to accommodate an email trigger or SNMP/syslog. Either way any experience getting this working on any vendor would be useful.
Other than the potential to eventually offload motion detection the other items I've found to be desirable:
- Documentation
- API
- Snapshot capability
- Frequency of firmware updates / bug-fixes / feature additions
- Common enough that there are community forums where info can be gathered
- Obviously zm support, but in a way that is least taxing on the zm server
- Motion detection/event trigger
I had some Ubiquiti cameras, but some of their cams use a proprietary PoE mechanism so it was a no go and those went back. Amcrest is going back due to an issue with the phy/network connection. The Vivotek seems good, and a bit of a step up in quality, I'll probably just stick with VivoTek going forward, but Hikvision it seems is very common so curious what the thoughts are, especially if you've used both.
Thanks!
PL
