I have purchased several Vanxse cameras "cannot find model number anywhere" in hopes that they would work wirh zoneminder. they claim that they work with onvif and rtsp. I am unable to find the correct remote hostpath to use it with http. I have only been able to see the camera using their viewer in Internet explorer. I have read through the source of the page in IE but cannot determint the path to the stream. any help is greatly appreciates

If they are onvif compliant, then try the onvif probe method.

Oh, but first upgrade to 1.30.4, it has better onvif support and a ton of security fixes.

Is this going to upgrade the existing install or wipe it out and install from scratch? And I just noticed that those instructions are for installing 1.29

I'm not sure if there is a Zoneminder 1.30.x for Debian 8. There is an install for Debian 9. Ubuntu may be a better choice for the Pi.

what version of Ubuntu would you recommend for a RPI3? I will only be running zoneminder on it.

I found this link http://zoneminder.blogspot.com/p/raspberry-pi-3.html that is using fedora but I can't figure out what version of zoneminder is being used.
