Hi I'm running ZM 1.29.0 running on Ubuntu 14.
ZM was installed using apt-get from a repository.
On this version of Ubuntu, no more upgrade are available via apt. Is there a way to upgrade to latest version, without reinstalling or upgrading operating system?
Thanks
Marco

Hi,
I found this article:
http://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/lat ... ht=upgrade
as I understand i have to add a repository and do an apt-update and the apt-upgrade.
My question now is about Database, is there a script to run to upgrade database?
All of my settings will be lost?
Regards
Marco

Hi,
I cannot upgrade on Ubuntu 14, because of this:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zoneminder : Depends: libavcodec54 (>= 6:9.1-1) but it is not installable or
libavcodec-extra-54 (>= 6:9.20) but it is not installable
Depends: libavformat54 (>= 6:9.1-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libavutil52 (>= 6:9.1-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libswscale2 (>= 6:9.1-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libsys-meminfo-perl but it is not going to be installed
Is there a way to perform the upgrade?
Marco

Take a dump of the zm database. When the new boxis set up drop the zm database, import the zm backup and run the database upgrade for zm. Doesnot matter if youmove the images as zoneminder will clean up the database when it is started.
