Hello guys, i need a little help.
Initially I installed 1.30.1, then I removed the stable repository and inserted the master repository, ran apt-get update and then upgrade. The system upgraded to 1.31.1 perfectly. Then I tried to upgrade to 1.31.18 (storageareas) the same way I did before, but it did not update. When I rang update and upgrade it just updated the zoneminder-doc. My question, how to upgrade it now?
How can i update from 1.31.1 (master) to 1.31.18 (storageareas)

Dowmload the .deb and install it manually.

Ubuntu package builders seem to be really backed up. I have actually released 1.31.19 several days ago, but the packages are not being built.
It may just be a problem with the PPA.
In the meantime I am working to update our own repo. Which version of ubuntu are you on?

Re: How can i update from 1.31.1 (master) to 1.31.18 (storageareas)
I found the solution. In case I was with version 1.31.1 of the PPA Master repository, I removed the MASTER repository and inserted the StorageAreas repository and gave an apt-get update && upgrade. It only updated the zoneminder-doc. I searched a lot on the internet and saw the solution. I installed aptitude and ran sudo aptitude safe-upgrade, so yes it updated everything correctly and now I'm using version 1.31.18 perfectly.
I created a script to make it easier for me, where it installs the stable version and then upgrades to the master or storageareas version, so I do not need to change the PATH of the CGI via the terminal, just via the browser when the stable is installed, making it much more easy to install system. I have installed several instances of Zoneminder, because here in the company we use it to monitor and record 8 restaurants with an average of 45 cameras per unit.
We finally managed to eliminate the paid system we had.

Re: How can i update from 1.31.1 (master) to 1.31.18 (storageareas)
That happened to me. I let it sit for awhile (5 + minutes) and then manually killed the two upgrade scripts running in the background. The upgrade then proceeded nicely.

So you kill the two process update script and run again the updater zmupdate.pl ??

Latest version shouldn't have this problem. However, if you have a lot of Events, some of the updates will take a long time.
