Start from scratch or?

I've poked around ZoneMinder for a few years now, seems I'm back.
Our house now has a system from Costco, with a QSee DVR and cameras.
The cameras are POE, QCN8033B, and I think made by Dahua. The DVR is crap.

I know I can keep my existing cameras, install a POE switch to take the place of the DVR, and run ZoneMinder.
I'm wondering if I can also add in some wifi cameras like the amazon cloud cam so I don't have to run new wires in other spots.
Or, should I just scrap the whole thing, get some Nest Pros and call it a day? Besides the cost issue, they suck up bandwidth.

I'm also trying to capture some street-level action (like cars/plates) so I need something out there or something with good range I can hang off a tree.
Since it needs wifi, the Nest wouldn't help me there.

Well, remembered that I had bought a POE injector for the cameras and plugged the link from that into my switch.
I already had ZM running on a host (from way back) and I'm trying to get it going now.

I disconnected the NVR, and wired my POE switch/extender into my main switch.
Connected the ZoneMinder system and tried adding. No dice.
Went to VLC, and was able to hit my cameras with this:
rtsp://192.168.86.50:554/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1

When I do, it prompts me for username/password.
I haven't yet tried but should have:
rtsp://192.168.86.50:554/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1&authbasic=YWRtaW46YWRtaW4=
where the last bit base64 encoding for admin/admin. Based on what I see in the QSee NVR (6 chars obfuscated with admin as login, you'd think that was it).

I tried entering at the prompt:
admin/admin
888888/888888
666666/666666
admin/ some weird combo of 8888xDDxMMxYY then take last 6 digits (I found on a post somewhere).

My cameras are QCN8033B, which may be the same as HFW4300S? I know they are Dahua.

nmap tells me:
# nmap -sT 192.168.86.50
Starting Nmap 7.01 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2018-05-11 17:51 PDT

Looked on cameras for a reset button, there is none. Hooked them back to the NVR and that device talks to them on port 37xxx I think which isn't shown in nmap above.

I'm close, very close... Help!
