continuous record not obeying Section Length ?

Hi all,
i'm trying to get a simple install going, zoneminder is v1.30.0

The goal is to do continuous record of a low-res rtsp stream, which is configured in the device as 640x352 at 5fps.
I have created monitor for the ip camera, all settings are default, function set to Record - obviously but i did change the "Section length" to 60.

My issue is that the event log is being populated with events that are nowhere near 60 seconds long.

What am i missing here ??

Set up a test PC with Ubuntu Bionic and ZM 1.30.4. Connected an IP camera using Remote and set Section length to 60 on Record. All events came out to 59 or 60 seconds.

Is your connection to the camera using ffmpeg stable? Loosing connection could cause the events to be shorter.

short continuous events like may be an indication of crashing. Look in logs.
