Hey guys,

I am trying to record about 40 cameras at about 720p motion detection. I want to hold the footage for around two weeks.

I have 40 funxwe FW26 camera's all on the same network, however I can't rely on the internal SD card storage.

Can anyone point me in the right direction either software or hardware specs I would need to accomplish this?

You will need 10 cores, 32GB ram, 8TB HD at least.

Perfect! I have a 10TB NAS Drive.

I want to use a Linux distro with GUI so I may need a more powerful processor. Can you give me any recommendations?

I've never done this before.
