Doesn't work with Ubuntu Bionic 18.04
Camera shows image using VLC with 'Open Network Stream' of rtsp://192.168.101.51:554/onvif2. However, no Events occur in ZM Console 1.30 on Ubuntu Bionic Desktop using same source whether I use ffmpeg or libvlc as Source. I've tried purging zm (using apt) and installing using https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Serv ... e_easy_way

Re: Doesn't work with Ubuntu Bionic 18.04
Two common errors with 1.30.4
PATH_ZMS is not set to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms
Camera resolution in Zoneminder does not match camera output. Use VLC (Tools, Media Information, Codec) to check camera Display Resolution.

VLC (Tools, Codec) says that Video Camera Resolution is 320 x 192. I've already tried that in ZoneMInder without success. I've also tried 320 x 240 as that would give 4:3 Aspect Ratio.

If you do not change the path you willnot see vidwo. Simple as that! I have a 17 camera Zoneminder 1.30.4 on Bionic that runs great!johnaaronrose wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 6:58 pm PATH_ZMS is not set to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms

I made a typo about the Path. It was already set correctly.

Use the path you used for VLC with Zm ffmpeg and the VLC reported resolution.

I did use the path you used for VLC with Zm ffmpeg and the VLC reported resolution.

If your camera asked for a user/password when you used VLC you have to add that to the source string.
B.T.W. you have not mentioned the make/model of camera!

Camera did not ask for user/password when using vlc. Camera is Floureon SP012.

Re: Doesn't work with Ubuntu Bionic 18.04
I've looked at above and used user:password in rtsp 'command' but didn't help. Perhaps this could be due to FPS problem:
'sudo service zoneminder status' gives:
Oct 26 17:42:30 Laptop zmc_m1[15138]: ERR [Can't run query: Unknown column 'AnalysisFPS' in 'field list']
I've tried 'sudo service zoneminder restart' but doesn't helpI've tried setting the Analysis FPS to 1.00 and 1 but with blank Analysis FPS & Alarm FPS, it shows the Source (i.e. ip address) in ZM Console as red. No events occur . This is with ZM 1.30 & Ubuntu Bionic.

Here are some settings for a public camera. Use this to prove that your Zoneminder works and that you need to figure out the settings for your cameras.

On ZM Console, Source is shown in red and Events is 0. I've attached 3 screenshots after setting up your public camera in ZM: Console, General tab & Source tab.

That camera does work. Capture from this morning 28OCT
Try using Firefox. Chrome/Chromium may have issues with video

Re: Doesn't work with Ubuntu Bionic 18.04
Same problem with Firefox. Screenshot of ZM Console attached. I noticed that the Floureon SP012 monitor is shown as Linked Monitor (both with Chromium 70.0 & Firefox 63.0 i.e. both up to date versions provided by Ubuntu Bionic). Is that significant? I've also attached a Systems Monitor screenshot (with Chromium, Firefox & Thunderbird running). System is using Virtual Memory. Is that significant to the problem? I'd like for ZM to only process & store 1 image per second, rather than Floureon SP012 camera's spec of 60 fps. Any ideas on how to do that? ZM documentation was not helpful on that.
