This is a good suggestion and I'll see if I can add it for the next version. Obviously there will be gaps in the coverage which I assume you're aware of.

A timing feature that says if a new event begins on the same monitor within 'X' seconds it should be appended to the previous event would be nice, however even a manual method would be good.
Say an option on one of the event screens to set check marks on a number of events that could then be combined. It could even be set to be handled in the background like the image deletes. I would think this would be a simple copy operation combined with a db update???
