Hi
i have a new Camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels. In the Monitor i see no video. I use the RTSP Stream. When i reduce the Resolution to 1920 x 1080 it works.
Whats the problem? RAM size of the Raspberry? Did i need a Raspberry 4 with 4GB RAM?
Best Regards
Werner
ZM dont work with 2592 x 1944 resolution
Re: ZM dont work with 2592 x 1944 resolution
Did you OnVIF the camera? Set the monitor up manually?
Open the camera in VLC and check the actual pixel count; cameras often lie, and you gotta have it exact.

And yeah, you might run out of shm with a raster that big, even with only one camera.

Hi Baylink
the camera has OnVIF. But wit OnVIF i have no experience. I set this in the Monitortab but it dont work. Maybe the options are not correct. I use onvif camera for the first time.

Yes i setup the monitor manualy and check the resoulution with VLC Player
1920x1080 work
2048x1536 & 2592x1944 did work not
What is out of shm?
My second camera 640x320 works well

Re: ZM dont work with 2592 x 1944 resolution
Shared memory; ZM needs enough to keep around a number of frames from each camera at its framerate and depth of motion detect overlap. The control console tells you what percentage of shm is in use.

Hi Baylink
thanks for the Information. Which Control Console did you mean? I did not find it

I've read all the previous posts here and I see good advice... but in the original post I see the best clue: "When i reduce the Resolution to 1920 x 1080 it works.".WernerS wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 4:45 am Hi

What this tells me is despite what resolution you think the camera is set to, it's actually outputting 1080p (1920x1080) video.
With IP cams, Zoneminder cannot automatically adjust itself to an IP camera's output resolution. Rather you have to:
- Log into the camera and set the desired resolution
- Then, as a good practice, access the camera's stream with another app (like VLC) and check info on the stream to confirm actual resolution.
- Then, in Zoneminder, you update the settings for the camera monitor to exactly match the actual resolution confirmed above.
Many IP cams support resolutions higher than 1080p. BUT: many of those cameras leave the factory with 1080p or 720p set. It's for out-of-the-box compatibility with popular DVRs and apps.
Unfortunately, there are also IP cams that say they support resolutions above 1080p... but they actually do not.
