v1.30 to v1.32, constant disconnects result in dead ZMC
Posted: Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:37 am
I run a small server, currently with 5 Wansview W3 running at 1280x720@2fps.
I recently upgraded to v1.32.3 and was forced to switch to using ffmpeg instead of Remote/RTSP to access these cameras successfully
Ever since that point I have been having nothing but problems. ZM will complain of constant disconnects from the wireless cams:
I do not believe these to be actual wireless issues. These cameras are accessing different routers, on different channels, and show 100% signal strength. In one case the camera is actually in UNBROKEN LINE OF SIGHT of one of the routers, at a distance of only about 15 feet. I can pull up the cameras either in their own web interfaces or in VLC, and the stream is never interrupted.
This mad rush of disconnects will continue until one or more of the cameras appears to be completely dead, complaining about a missing zmc process and requiring me to restart Zoneminder for it to ever recover:
I have performed multiple re-installs of Zoneminder without any results. These same cameras were working mostly fine in v1.30; I would experience this issue perhaps once a month on one camera; now half of my cameras are completely dead within 24 hours of starting Zoneminder. No other hardware has changed; software wise only normal debian stretch updates have been installed.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Or does anyone have any working Wansview W3 cameras with v1.32.3?
EDIT:
Load rarely exceeds 0.5, dual core CPU
4GB Memory, actual in use never exceeds half of that, page file is never touched.
tmpfs /dev/shm never above 12% utilization
server itself is hardwired, not wireless
EDIT2:
Added a screenshot of the source configuration of one of the cameras.
Also lets make this even more fun: I'm getting Signal Loss failures on a camera I hard wired...
