Ip camera unexpected channel selector error unable to monitor

hello

I am trying to add my ip camera and I dont get any video and I get this error in my server console
Broadcast message from systemd-journald@SeaTurtle (Mon 2019-09-30 15:22:59 PDT):

zmc[41854]: ERR [zmc_m2] [Unexpected channel selector 0 in RTSP interleaved data]
I am running ubuntu 18.04 LTS Server
I am using the ppa suggested for ubuntu on the install guide

from my server I can ping the camera

from my desktop if I connect to my path in vlc my camera feed shows up

but it doesent show up in zoneminder

I switched my source type from "remote" to "ffmpeg" and it started working
