Hello all,

I'm having a heck of a time with this and hoping someone might be able to help me set this straight. Purchased a cheap-ish plug-and-play smonet camera system on amazon with a K8208-W NVR, i'm just trying to get a stream of the cameras to this computer and it doesn't seem like i can figure out if this is even probable.

The manual doesn't mention anything about rtsp or http streams, just that i need to use IE with active X enabled.

I've searched this forum and tried a couple of recommendations with other systems to see if they'd work with mine

I've tried these with VLC just so i can test them at first before i try to figure out how to get them in with zoneminder and so far nothing has been working. I've been twiddling around for a couple of days and not making any head way so i figured i'd bite the bullet and post for help...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. This thing is basically garbage. If this is even marginally marketable I'm in the wrong business.

I'll snoop on the camera traffic and see if it's something standard.

I have been getting into zm lately and have that version you need to check your firmware version first. Mine is listed for reference as its the firmware that came with it.

Sorry if this information is already on the forum somewhere, but maybe it will help some out. I have connected fine with zm and the mobile app zmninja though zmninja is eol just have to search for fixes to push notifications. Also the Essecloud android app will work fine to just kind of stuck with there cloud. These are the urls I have used so enjoy zm is pretty fun.

main feed is rtsp://192.168.0.xxx:yourport/ch0_0.264 which should be 2304x1296 resolution
sub stream is rtsp://192.168.0.xxx:yourport/ch0_1.264 which is 640x360

If you want another way there is a portal you can go to http://192.168.0.xxx:yourport you will need your nvr login/pass and a browser. I haven't been able to actually figure out how too view the live feed on this portal. But I can change settings for the nvr and stuff which beats working with the actual nvr system os. Plus I have found some settings I can set in the portal that I couldn't set with the standard nvr os.
