Hikvision DS-2CD2086G2-I

Hi,

I am looking for an upgrade for Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I (one out of four has
problems after 3 years). A good candidate is a Hikvision DS-2CD2086G2-I

Has anybody experience with this cam?

If not, do other newer Hikvision cams still provide a rtsp stream, e.g.

rtsp://admin:<pw>@cam${1}/Streaming/Channels/1

for the DS-2CD2042WD-I?

Hi rdorsh,

Probably too late for you, but may be useful for others: I just tested an Hikvision DS-2CD2086G2-I
today, and it works fine.

It still provides RSTP at rtsp://user:password@ip:554/Streaming/Channels/1 (I recommend using a dedicated user instead of admin).

To hard reset the camera (e.g. if you lost the password ):
- remove RESET button cover
- power off camera
- press and hold RESET button
- power-on camera
- keep RESET button pressed for 30 secs
