Upgraded ZM not storing captured events, MySQL showing errors

Post by jlcunning »

I have a ZM installation that has been working for years, seven cameras, on a Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS mini-itx PC with 4GB RAM and a separate 1TB drive dedicated to ZM storage. The disk usage for ZM is at 1%. Some time ago, not sure when, my 1.32.x release stopped storing captured events, and upgrading to 1.34.22 shows no improvement. ZM error log doesn't show any errors, but the MySQL error log (MySQL is 5.7.32) contains many lines like
2020-12-23T18:56:45.335490Z 22398 [Note] Aborted connection 22398 to db: 'zm' user: 'zmuser' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets)
2020-12-23T18:56:45.460304Z 22401 [Note] Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Live video display works fine, and motion captures appear briefly on the console and can be viewed for a few seconds afterward, but quickly disappear and the console shows zero events for all cameras. What am I missing?

Sounds like either zmaudit or your filters are deleting events immediately. Look in logs. Turn on debugging.
