SOLVED Irregular post-event recording time?

I am trying to use MOCORD and set it to capture 5 minutes of post-event video so it doesn't miss anything. I want it to alarm, and for each alarm thereafter extend the recording time until no alarm has occurred for 5min.
Settings and info:
"Iimage buffer" set to 80 frames
"pre-event image count" set to 40 frames.
"post-event image count" set to 5000 frames.
My camera is set to 15fps 8bit grayscale 1920x1080.
The zone is a large polygon set to "very sensitive".
Event close mode is set to idle.
ZM Load is at 0.7 % storage at 15%, /dev/shm at 76%.
From what I've read, I want to use Post Event Image Count to set the continued recording time. So I set that to 5000 frames, and it worked ok-ish on the next event, capturing 4457 frames, however on the event shortly after that, it only captured 470 frames. What is going on? Why is it not capturing the specified post event image count?
I have more than one camera feed doing this, and one camera feed that doesn't seem to do this. Any ideas? The 2 that do this are WiFi, so I'm wondering if ZM crashes out of recording or gives up if there is a brief connectivity interruption, such as 1 to 2 seconds?
Thanks!
