Is there a config somewhere to disable or suppress motion detection (alarms) whenever control is being executed?

"disable alarms" button on the live view seems to have no effect....

There seem to be lots of comments throughout the board about "disable alarms" working and not working. There's even
a comment in this thread about this issue cropping up and disappearing repeatedly across versions.
Is no one else seeing this issue in 1.34.23?
