I managed to install zm on my Debian testing. So I have access to the console, but I am unable to connect a webcam.

I bought to test a Logitech C505. But I also have various cameras at home: logi circle 2.

My problem is that from the console I don't know how to add a camera.

I have of course tried to connect a camera, but without success.

There are so many settings that seem to affect the installation of a camera, that I ask for a little help. Indeed, there is a lot of possibility of being wrong.

That's a webcam, so it depends on what you have it connected to.
Try it with "VLC" program. That should give you clues how to set it up in ZM.
Also try google "zm webcam" may help.

But if you can get an ONVIF IP camera, that's probably easier to get working than the c505.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried again and not to say that it is because of the camera which is a recent Logitech, I experimented with the integrated camera of my laptop which is not very young. Could not connect it. On VLC I chose the source and the camera starts working, but on the zm it still doesn't work.

It's a shame, there is a lot of data for the implementation of ZM, but afterwards I have the impression that you have to be an engineer to connect a camera.

Maybe in a while it will be more accessible for newbies.

In the meantime I will turn to an NVR.
