[SOLVED] Motion detect and record different streams?

Hi

I am quite new to zoneminder.
I've got an IPCamera that can stream simultaneously a 4K stream (@20fps) and an low-res stream (1080p or 720p).

Would it be possible to do motion detection on the low-res stream and if motion happens record the 4K stream?
I ask because it would be maybe more ressource efficient to not have motion detection and live preview running on a 4K stream but
instead use the low-res stream for that.

yes, you can do this with following settings:

Substream on modect.
Mainstream on nodect and linked monitor to the substream

Yes. Like Jason ourne said. Set the low res monitor to mocord and the high res set to nodect and put the low res monitor in the "Linked" box for the high res monitors "source" options.

Nice, that works :) Thank you

I've set LowRes to Modect and 4K to Nodect and disabled "Decoding Enabled" on the 4K Stream for "camera writer" "passthrough".

So what is the purpose of the SourceSecondPath box in the monitor settings under v1.36.5? The Linked Monitor works, but you loos the analytics of what zone triggered, etc.

My Lorex cams offer a main stream and substream. How does ZoneMinder know which is which if there’s only one IP address? Could it be the multicast settings???

Many cameras use the URL passed to know what to send.
Amcrest -- realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
