I found online some notes about setting this camera up for everything but zoom. The camera does have a 4x zoom capability.

I see others have posted that they got zoom working. The default Hiksvision parameter set handles PT but does not attempt to set up Z.

Can anyone suggest the settings that are used for zoom on this camera?

Can Zoom
Can Zoom Continuous
Min Zoom Range 10
Max Zoom Range 250
Min Zoom Step 1
Max Zoom Step 20

Has Zoom Speed
Set both to 20 (preference)

That helps a lot. The other thread with the script is helpful too.
The zoom seems to start slow and then accelerate but it got me up and running and enough info that I can look at it further if I need to.

That post and pulling the capabilites from the camera will probably shed some light <camera>/ISAPI/PTZCtrl/channels/1/capabilities
