Hi,

I've spend 3 evenings of my week trying to find out why after reinstalling Zoneminder I was unable to view and events stream.

Also the live stream would only update around every 3 seconds.

It was fine in the previous version ( can't remember which)

I searched the net and was unable to find a solution.

I did find the solution though. Under "Options" and "Low B/W and Med B/W and High B/W" the Option "WEB_H_CAN_STREAM" this was set to auto. When I set this to YES on all three options (low/med/high) evrything worked fine. Live streaming was back to smooth as, and I could view all events.

I'm just putting this out there as I'm sure others may well have similar issues and it really frustrated me,

Thanks for putting this out. I was having problems viewing events and the live stream was very slow. Your suggestion worked well for me and now I am able to view the events and live view is very smooth as well.

The key to this kind of problem is to know what browser you were using.

The Can Stream option tests against known browser strings, so if you are using a weird browser or a new version of a browser, then the auto detect logic can incorrectly set the stream settings.

Plugins that mask or change the browser string can also affect this.

In my case I got the same behaviour on both Chrome and Firefox running on Windows 10 machine.
