"Alarm Colour" and "Showing Analysis"?

Post by pygr »

zoneminder_1.37.40~20230510110400-focal_arm64.deb

I have two groups of questions:

1) On the Web interface for editing the properties of a zone, there is an entry in a table for specifying "Alarm Colour". What is that meant to control? Alarmed pixels? Zone polygon overlays?

2) Above the right hand side of the zone polygon definition table there are two buttons. The one on the right implements play/pause for the underlying live view. Just to the left of that is a button with a small bar graph in the icon. Hovering the cursor over it brings up "Showing Analysis". Clicking the button turns it gray and now a hovering cursor brings up "Not Showing Analysis". What is this button meant to control? I can discern no effect.

The Alarm Color is the outline color around the area that triggered the alarm when looking at the alarmed frames.

I believe the "Not Showing Analysis" can be used to keep the image from jumping around when redefining the extents of the zone area.

Confirmed.

To enable this, I set up blob detection https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Understandi ... or_Dummies and selected Monitor>Recordings>Save JPEGs>Analysis images.

The bar icon turns on an doff the showing of the analysis blobs while editing the zone.

I believe I have actually disabled the feature because it was slowing everything down too much. When I can figure out a more efficient way to provide it I will re-enable it.
