I have two different computers with zoneminder,
One with the apt repository of iconnor-ubuntu-zoneminder-1_36-focal.list upgrades to 1.36.33 as expected. {focal is Ubuntu 20.04}
The other with the apt repository of iconnor-ubuntu-zoneminder-1_36-jammy.list upgrades to 1.36.12. Is that intentional? {jammy is Ubuntu 22.04}
I was looking for differences between the two since on the computer on Ubuntu jammy, zoneminder is not working. and previously it was working before upgrading to jammy.

They should be on the same version -.33
Something's not right on your jammy updater.

Re: Upgrade jammy 1.36.33
Hi,
I have the same issue with Ubuntu 22.04.3, it doesn't let me upgrade to zoneminder 1.36.33 from 1.36.12.
Running "apt-cache madison zoneminder" gives me:
zoneminder | 1.36.33-jammy1 | https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/iconno ... .36/ubuntu jammy/main amd64 Packages
zoneminder | 1.36.12+dfsg1-1ubuntu0.1~esm1 | https://esm.ubuntu.com/apps/ubuntu jammy-apps-security/main amd64 Packages
zoneminder | 1.36.12+dfsg1-1 | http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages
It could be because of the subscription I have to Ubuntu Pro, but I have commented the appropriate lines and still can't upgrade. Running "apt-get update" doesn't do anything, but "apt-get upgrade zoneminder" returns:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zoneminder : Depends: libdatetime-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libfile-slurp-perl but it is not installable
Depends: php-intl but it is not installable
Depends: libvncclient1 but it is not installable or
libvncclient0 but it is not installable
Recommends: zoneminder-doc (>= 1.36.33-jammy1) but 1.36.12+dfsg1-1ubuntu0.1~esm1 is to be installed

Re: Upgrade oddity 1.36.x
Did you try to fix the broken packages?
Re: Upgrade oddity 1.36.x
There is something seriously wrong with your system. Those not installable dependencies are definitely generally available and have been for years.
You must be missing some normally available repo in sources.list.

@dougmccrary - I have tried to fix them, but no joy.

Re: Upgrade oddity 1.36.x
If you're gonna reinstall, you may as well go with ubuntu. It works fine, even with ubuntu pro.
Except for LAMP, there are good instructions in the wiki that work for 18.04 and up, in my experience.

Re: Upgrade oddity 1.36.x
This was a VM fresh install and it didn't work. Maybe I missed something, but still it shouldn't be unfixable or un-upgradable.

Well something's not right. It works on metal.
