Hi,
ffmpeg is a GREAT streaming option, although I can't get Windows2000 (media player 9) to buffer less then 5-10 seconds.
Has anyone found a solution to get as real-time playback as possible ?

I haven't for sure. If anyone does know of any other real-time streaming formats that can be viewed without this buffering then I'd be interested to hear about them. It's not my area of expertise but I'm happy to put as many useful streaming formats in ZM as necessary.

It's realy a hard one yes. The weird thing is that when observing the download rate, when I press to view some camera, the DL rate isn't maximum available, it's quite low, from 25-40-144 kbs (I'm using DU meter).
I'd expect that the DL rate would be the maximum possible, so that the media player buffer would be filled up very quickly. It takes 7-14 seconds the stream to show.
If there would only be some other applet or activex for displaying ASF or MPEG4 streams / files, better then MP9.
Regards, D.

On my ToDo list is a small applet to display streamed video. It is also intended to have the ability to communicate back with the server so you could have live pause, instant rewind or slow-mo etc. All on a live or replay stream. It's probably a couple of months away though at least as stuff I get paid for tends to push itself to the front of my queue!
