Hi everyone,

I'm currently using ZoneMinder 1.36.33 and I'm wondering if there's a way to directly save recordings as videos with audio included, rather than individual JPEG images without sound. All the information I could find on this topic seems to be from 2016, and I'm not sure if it's still relevant.

If anyone has any up-to-date information or suggestions on how to achieve this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I use passthrough for the video and the audio is saved.
The only thing missing is audio on the live view.

Although you do still have to check the little save audio box as well...

Does Zoneminder store video AND images or does zm if videopassthrought is activated store video file only ?

I tried several options, but video storage including sound does not work. If I switch to video recording, the event will be saved (as jpg or video?). The analysis frames, etc., are recorded, but I can't see any output in the ZoneMinder interface for the event. I can only download the jpg files or the video after I create the video in the ZoneMinder interface.

Is there any possibility to record video with sound, show the video with sound in the ZoneMinder interface, and store only the video for the MoDect mode?

Do you have a reason to use video writer encode? Use passthrough if not.
