Segmentation fault

Post by Anna.N »

With the latest update (1.37.63~20240719.43) I get the following message every minute and the live view is frozen

Code: Select all

Got signal 11 (Segmentation fault), crashing	zm_signal.cpp	54
'zmc -m 2' exited abnormally, exit status 255	zmdc.pl

Same experience, had to revert to 1.37.63~20240715.8-focal amd64

All zmc processes were almost instantly and constantly crashing with segfaults on 1.37.63~20240719144459-focal amd64

So I managed to roll back to 1.37.62 which seems to have partially restored normal operation but I'm having a new issues where nph-zms will chew up all my memory and bog down the system.

I eventually have to restart apache2 to get the system back. I'm not sure if it's related to my rollback or something else...

I'm here to join the club. I have ran through all settings and can't escape the seg fault. What's the easiest way to roll back to the prior 1.37.63? I can't seem to find it on the release now.

If you are running debian it shoud be sufficient to roll back to 1.37.63~20240716.38-bookworm

Code: Select all

 sudo apt install zoneminder=1.37.63~20240716.38-bookworm

The relevant package is no longer in noble. Only jammy, and it complains loudly of tons of broken dependencies when it's tried to be forced.

You are AWESOME and I can't thank you enough. I beat my keyboard to death the other night trying to locate that archive. It's now bookmarked in multiple locations, lol. Thanks again!

I noticed that there's a new build 1.37.63~20240723103852 pushed to Ubuntu repo
Did anyone try it already, what about those segfaults, still there?

I tried this on 24.04 and still had the segmentation faults, I'm stable on the 20240716 version.
