Recommended camera??

Post by hornetster »

Sure this topic must already exist, but can't find it...
Can anyone point me to a source that details/helps me find, a camera that can be used locally? ie doesn't need an app, can be accessed using rtsp://, or even https://, and controlled/monitored using Zoneminder, locally?
Have a Nextech QC3864, which is... useless!!
Preferences are HD/2K/4K, reasonable price (cheap as possible ;-) ), etc.
Thanks,
John.

If you're looking for a camera that can be used locally without needing a specific app, and that supports RTSP or HTTPS for integration with ZoneMinder, here are some options you might consider:
  • Reolink Cameras: Affordable, supports RTSP, available in HD and 4K.
Amcrest Cameras: Reliable and budget-friendly, witheggy car various resolutions including 1080p and 4K.
Hikvision/Dahua: Good range of IP cameras with RTSP, typically a bit pricier but very reliable.
Wyze Cam: Affordable, can be configured for local access, though may require some setup.
Foscam Cameras: Several models support RTSP and work well with ZoneMinder.
I have some tips for you:
  • Check for RTSP support in specs.
    Keep firmware updated.
Verify compatibility with ZoneMinder via forums.
Read user reviews for setup and reliability.
