Moving System

Post by kc8akw »

I originally set up a 1.36 Zoneminder system on Ubuntu 24.04 with a four core processor. Because there seems to be conditions under which the Load raises into the 60s and the system becomes non responsive, I decided to duplicate it on a more capable system.

I next installed Zoneminder on Ubuntu 24.04 on a 10 core system. I opened up two instances of my browser and copied all settings from the original system to the new system. Once complete, I unplugged the original system and plugged in the new. None of the cameras work.

Next, I uninstalled Zoneminder, installed 1.37 and activated only one camera. I continue to get "Unable to open input rtsp://192.168.XXX.YYY:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif due to: Immediate exit requested as an error."

Open to suggestions.

Another way would be to take a backup of the zm database from the old unit and import it into the new. You do not have to move the images as Zoneminder will in time clean out the events that have no stored images or videos.

Are you able to ping that ip from the server? That message occurs when it takes too long to start the stream. ZM Version shouldn't matter

That was it.192.168 got keyed as 192.169. As many times as I looked at it, my eyes did not resolve that single digit.

As far as backing up the database, I noted that there seems to be a change in the tables. I may, however use the concept for part of the set up of the remaining cameras.

Many thanks.
