What stops recordings / splits it into :10 to :15 sec parts?

Post by Smack2k »

My Zoneminder catches every little movement when on motion capture, so I end up with a ton of small 10 second files during the daytime. Along with those 10 second files are also videos of me or other family members moving around. Its picking up motion, but it seems to be ending one file and starting another every 10 seconds or so. So one video will run of me raking leaves. Mid-rake, moving around so still being captured, the video ends. Another starts 1 second later and continues of me raking in the same direction.

What causes the videos to break up like that? What settings are best for me to look at? I read through the documentation but there is nothing in there that states that.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am going to have to just leave it on record all the time otherwise which I dont want to do!

I would start with Reference Image Blend %ge on the General tab of the monitor. This controls how long it take ZM to become "used" to the new picture. Lower numbers should result in a longer record time.
