I'm looking to move away from Windows and blue iris and I just can not find a simple install setup for Zoneminder. I follow instruction pages and I run into things like "http://hostname-or-ip/zm". What the heck does that mean? I put in my host name and nothing.I have tried reading the docs. I entered all the commands and it just throws errors at me and I have no idea what they mean. I am pretty conversant with Mint mate and I and can use the command line. Can someone please point me to a page that will take me by the hand and lead me through the process?

Re: install for morons
You most likely won't have a hostname. Your installation will have an IP.
So what that means is you enter an address that looks similar to tis:
http://192.168.1.123/zm
The specific number for your installation depends on your router.
You can search for something like "whats my ip" to find how get the number.
